Photo: It was an internationel feeling in small Ingelstad south of Växjö, Sweden when Dackefejden started and in the service area you saw a lot of german flags on the cars. But also drivers from other countries startyed. F ex french veteran Olivier Hugla, in the "dutch coloured" 240. Picture: Young 240-driver danish Mick Fraas was the fastest of all foreign Volvo Original drivers in Dackefejden 2010. A lot of "non swedish cars" invaded Dackefejden in Sweden this year. It was a lot of drivers from Germany, but also some drivers from other couintries: Denmark, Finland and France. And drivers from Sweden of cause - the total number of Volvo Original was almost 80, included the Volvo Original drivers in the Youngsterclasse, where drivers 16-18 years and without drivers license - and without pacenotes - is allowed. Among them Max Svensson was the winner - and he ended as nr 60 overall in the list with 205 cars to start! This rally was the swedish leg in the Volvo Original Nordic West Euro Cup 2010 - a very special Cup, with "head rallies" and bonus rallies. Bonus rallies is because the drivers are spred out in six countries. Well - a lot of drivers came to Dackefejden and the 5 stages on hard and twisty gravel roads in a very nice swedish landscape. The rally started in wounderful wether sun and blue sky - but it changed to heavy rain during the rally and that gave the drivers a lot of problems as the roads get very slippery. Some of the drivers crashed - f ex german Andreas Leue with his 740 and Arne Hoffmaster who started in hes brand new built 940 for the fist time. The big star in this Cup - swedish 940 driver Henrik Levin - also crashed. After 500 meters on the first stage! Henrik has won the Cup 2 times and want to win again. But nog he has no car - and two broken ribs... Danish 240-driver Mick Fraas was the fastest af the foreign Volvo guests in Dackefejden. This time also gave him the 9:th place overall among the C-graded Volvo Original drivers where 32 drivers started (and 98 overall). Cup-leader so far - Siegfried "Siggi" Mayr in his old standard 740 - was only a few seconds slower then Knoof. That gave him 10 more points in the Cup. Young swedish driver Kristoffer Karlsson who test the Euro Cup this year made a very good rally, won the B-drivers classe and was 4.th fastest among all Volvo Original drivers. Kristoffers time after 5 stages - 41.11,5 - gave him and codriver Lars Andersson the 18.th place overall in the whole Dackefejden. But - the fastest driver in this standard time - Fredrik Menck - was a little bit faster. He got 40.27,6 -and htat placed him as number 8 overall!
