BOSSCHA KRASCHED - ZWAAGSTRA ROLLED

It was an expensive weekend in Germany for dutch drivers John Bosscha and Rinse Zwaagstra.
Bot drivers crasched their cars, just two weeks before their start in South Swedish Rally in Sweden.
Rinse rolled his car on SS 2 in ADAC Mobil Pegasus Rallye Sulinger Land and John crasched backwards in a tree on SS 13.
Ringse hopes he can repaire his 740 before the gravel rally in Sweden:
- I hope so. We will trye to, because I always wanted to start in a gravel rallye in Sweden.
John will go to Sweden - but as a spectator:
- The car is realy damaged so its not possible to repair in time.

The rally in Sulingen was very interresting in the Volvo class.
Dutch driver Sander Pelle was fast already from 1.st stage an also won the classe. But John  Bosscha also was fast and won stages- until he went of at the 13.nd stage - with only 2 more stages to go.
Also Jacco Walewein and Ruurd Ochse was fast and won stages in the classe.

German driver Andreas Leue as usual drove fast and smart and made no mistakes. This driving gave him 3.rd place in classe, 22 second behind 2.d placed Jacco Waalewein.
The result in Gremany means Andreas now is 2.nd overall in Cup, only 8 points behind the Cup-leader, swedish driver Henrik Levin.

Next leg in the Volvo Original Nordic West Euro Cup is the South Swedish Rally in Sweden May 15-16.
Round 40 Volvo Original cars are on the entry list (and 21 Volvo Original cars more in the local championship "DM" the same day)

Of cause most of the drivers are swedish drivers - John  Bosscha will not start, Rinse Zwaagstra is unsafe - and german driver Jochen Walther dont know yet if his car will be ready in time. The fast veteran had to retire in Austria and its still work to do on the car.
One of the swedish cars in Ljungby will be driven by Robert Nordin - Robert is  from Åland, the island are betweend Sweden and Finland.

One interresting driver in the Volvo entry list is veteran Gert Blomquist.
Gert is the driver that has started in the SSR more often than anyone else. He even started (in a DAF 66) in the first SSR ever!
Gert has been boss for the Peugeot Motor Sport Sweden team and coached drivers bot in Swedish Championships and international Championships, f ex FIA Gr N Championship. The cars in the team has been WRC cars, Kit cars and Super 2000 cars.
Now Gert is "retired", the Peugeot cars are sold and normaly he only drivers his nice Peugeot 504 Gr 2 Historic rally cars once a year.
But - for the SSR this year he has borrowed a 740VO  from a friend  "just for fun"
