TANK S RALLY - FIRST ROUND IN VOLVO ORIGINAL NORDIC WEST EURO CUP 2009 The first round of the Volvo Original Nordic West Euro Cup 2009 will take place on 20 – 21 March in Emmeloord, Holland. The Tank S Rally is already a number of years well known to a lot Volvo Original drivers as an asphalt event, as a meeting with Original drivers from Sweden, Norway, Germany and Holland. The Tank S Rally 2009 is again held in and around the Noordoostpolder in the middle of Holland. The special stages are partly situated on flat polder roads, but also on the twisty narrow dikes around the polder. 21 SPECIAL STAGES This year the total length of the rally is 377 kilometers, including 21 special stages with a total length of 143 kilometers. There will be a central service, as before in the city centre of Emmeloord and next to the rally headquarters, which as before will be located in hotel/restaurant “Het Voorhuys”. Special arrangements for foreign competitors: reduced entry fee € 250,-. And competitors in the Volvo Original Nordic West Euro Cup will receive a € 60,- Tank S Voucher, offered by event sponsor N. van Staveren BV, to be used by one of the Tank S filling stations. Summary of the program: Thursday 19th March: In the evening there is an extra opportunity for foreign drivers for a recce of those stages, that are programmed in darkness and Dutch drivers already had that recce on the Saturday before. Friday 20th March: During the day recce of all the stages, followed by scrutineering in the end of the afternoon. From 20.16 hrs start of the first leg, 4 stages of which 2 will have a so called Gruppenstart, where in one round 6 – 8 competitors will start with intervals of 10 secs. Saturday 21st March: Start of leg 2 from 08.31 hrs, then service and 17 special stages, podium finish of the rally expected at 23.02 hrs followed by the prize giving at 01.15 hrs in “Het Voorhuys”.
