22 years old swedish rally driver Emil Tigerberg was really satisfied with his trip to the TankS Rally in Emmeloord in The Netherlands this Year. Of cause because he and his codriver Martin Andersson won the Volvo Original Cup in the rally. But also because he really likes this rally: - Most of the special stages was new for me. Only two of them where used last year - but 2007 we drove them the other directon. - The new stages where very nice and a lot more twisty than last year. - Maybe that was the reason that everything was so nice. Together with nice weather, friendly spectators it was very fun to drive. I will say this was my best rally ever! The 940 driver has decided to win the Volvo Original Nordic West Euro Cup this Year (he was number 3 last year). One reason is that he like driving at asphalt: - However I decided to start at snow in Norway in febaruary to get as many points as possible - even if I dont like snow. - But I hade a perfect day on the wery nice norwegian roadds and ended as nr 2 in the rally. So after my win in TankS Rally... But - its 5 more rallies to go. And Emil wants more drivers to start: - I want Jochen Walther and Holger Knöbel on the starting line and of cause more swedish drivers. It would be nice if some norwegian and dutch drivers want to start. And of couse some danish... - Sorry we will not see my friend from last year - Eric Wrena Johansson, who won the Cup 2007. Eric will change to an international classe - but I know he wants go on with international rallies. So maybe we meet him anyhowe. The swedish team won the TankS Rally 3,5 minutes before dutch 240-driver Cor Yntema. That was after 21 stages and more than 140 kms driving: - We started om standard tyres 195/50 15 and it was perfect. We had a nice grip and did not change tyres a at all. Well - at the stages in town we changed to thinner rims because of all "chikanes" or what you call it... Results. Next rally: Triestingtal Rallye, Austria, April 11-13 (gravel). Trisetingtal Rally is a very nice gravel rally - perfect for the Standard Volvos. Last year it was 12 Volvo Original Cars on the starting line: 2 from Sweden, one from Germany - and the rest was a bunch of very good drivers from Austria. Winner last year was Niklas Lundberg, Sweden after a great fight with german Holger Knöbel. Local driver Thomas Steinmayer in a 740 was really fast but went off and lost at lesat one minute before he could go on. Now he ended at 3.rd place, only 1,5 min after the winner...
