German 740-driver Holger Knöbel was the fastest driver in the first rallyn in the Volvo Orignal Nordic West Euro Cup 2007. Overall 11 Volvo Original drivers started in this first rally - TanksRally in Emmeloord in The Netherlands in middle of March. The rally had 10 special stages and was both long and hard for the drivers. As usual it was a tarmac rally and all the Volvo drivers started - due to the regulations in this Cup - on Standard tyres 195 50 15. Swedish driver Niklas Lundberg - one of the fastest newcomers in the class in Sweden last year - was surprising fast and ended at the second place, only 43 seconds after Holger. One of the new young sweeds - Emil Tigerberg - showed that he is very guick at tarmac and beeted Micke Andersson after a hard fight during the last stages. Ramon Sanders at the 6.th place was the fastest of the dutch drivers. 240-driver John Borscha was quick too, but hade to give up at the last stage, ss 19. Next rally in the Cup is the austrian Triestingtal Rally in April 14. At least Holger Knöbel and Nikls Lundberg has decided to start - probably also german driver Jochen Walter . Hopefylle there will be even more foreing drivers meeting the austrian drivers in this nice and long gravel rally.
