Picture: Holger Knöbel was faster than all Swedish Volvo Original-drivers on the gravel roads in Lausitz Rallye 2006 - until the car suddenly stopped! There was a nice price giving weekend at Jochen Walthers beautiful castle Hohen Luckow outside Rostock, Germany in the end of november. But - it was not only prices and memorys from the season the team memebers where discussing. They also discussed the season 2007. And decided to make one rally in each country where the Volvo Original class are established. This means two new countries in the Nordic West next year; Austria and Denmark. And one country who will be back - Norway. The drivers also accepted a swedish suggest to use two rallies in Germany - one tarmac rally in the west and one gravel rally in the east. That will make it more easy for the drivers in different countries to plan there rally-season next year. Norway will also come back - but not as a winter rally country. Every rally in the Cup 2007 will be driven on summer roads - between Mars to October. The plan for 2007: Nordic West Euro Cup 2007 start with Tank Rally in The Netherlands Mars 16-17 (tarmac). Than gravel in Austria (Triestingtal) April 14 and tarmac in Sulinger Land in Sulingen, Germany (May 5-6). Next rally is a summer rally in Norway (June 9). Place: Aurskog-Hřland. Denmark will be back after many years with a rally on tarmac Sept 29. And than its time for the swedish Rally Österlen Oct 5-6 (Last round in the Swedish Rally Championship - gravel rally in the very South of Sweden (Tomelilla). After that its only one more rally to go: Lausitz Rallye in Germany Oct. 19- 20 (the only big rally at gravel roads in Germany nowdays) Overall its 7 rallies - and 5 will be counted for the final result. In the tarmac-rallies there will be (as in the Cup 2006) only standard tyres. The Nordic West Euro Cup at the moment has no top sponsor, but we are working on it (The reason why the Pirelli Rally in Finland not are in the calendar 2007 is that that rally needs a lot of work for ferries, cabines etc - and its not possible to make without a sponsor).
