Picture: Volker Clasen from Germany was the best non-swedish driver in the Volvo Original West Euro Cup 2006. The 240-driver who ended at 3.rd place in Euregio rally also started in famous Pirelli Rally in Finland, where the picture was taken.

Anders Svensson, the 20 years old swedish 940-driver, won the Volvo Original Nordic West Euro Cup 2006.
Anders was 2.nd in german Lausitz Rallye and as no one of the drivers behind started in last rallye in The Netherlands two weeks later he became the winner, withouth starting in last leg.
- Its a nice feeling. I only wanted to test some rallies outside Sweden this year. But it was so nice that I also started in Lausits. My plan was to start in a Gr N car next year, but I will surely wait.
- This winter I will build a new Volvo 940 Original Cup Car and try to win the Volvo Original Cup once again next year.
- Rallies in Sweden are of cause nice too - but I really love to start abroad!

German Lausitz Rally is a long, gravel rally with hard roads and 50.000 spectators round Weisswasser, 200 km southeast of Berlin. Its a wounderful rally and a lot of swedish and german Volvo drivers started this year.
In the first stages the Volvo class started as a big fight between two drivers - swedish top driver Magnus Johansson and german top driver Holger Knöbel.
Holger - who learned to go fast on gravel in swedish rallies this summer - really was fast and Magnus chased him so hard, that the sweed crashed his rear axle and had to retire.
After that Holger had a big lead - almost one minute. But suddenly his engine stopped at one stage. It was an electrical failure and he had to retire too...
Now Mikael Andersson took over the lead - and won after a big fight with Anders Svensson over the last stages.
The situation before the last leg in the Cup - Euregio Rally, a tarmac rally in The Netherlands - was that a lot of drivers could win - if they won the Euregio! F ex Mikael Andersson and Morgan Olsson. Also Holger Knöbel could reach a 3.rd place overall - if he won in Holland.
But - a long trip, a lot to do to the cars after the german rally - and no money in the wallet - made that none of this three drivers dared to challenge the dutch drivers in Holland. So Anders won the Cup without starting...

The dutch rally winner was Sander Pelle. Only german driver Volker Clasen had the 3.rd time in classe and climbed to the 7.th place overall.
